Hello and Happy New Year!

Happy New Year animation

We know it’s been a while since we updated Amazing Frog? 2.
Those of you that follow what we do will know it’s because we have been making huge leaps forward with QMMT (Quest for the Magical Mystery Toilet).

Amazing Frog? 2 development update

We are still working on Amazing Frog? 2! We have been working on Amazing Frog? 2 and we will continue to do so until Hell freezes over.
This update marks a new beginning for us. As we update both QMMT and Amazing Frog? 2, they will benefit each other since they share the same core that we have been developing over the past few years.

As far as content goes—new vehicles, new weapons, challenges, and collectables—QMMT has received the lion’s share of that effort (mainly because it’s closer to console release).
However, since the last update in March for Amazing Frog? 2, we’ve been working on establishing a more robust world with a day–night cycle.
As a small indie team, we’ve had to think outside the box about how to protect future development—especially after what we experienced with Legacy, where Unity progress made our game un-updatable. 🙁

Moving on…

One of the new major features is Swindon Town. This version runs smoothly even on a Steam Deck and allows access to Swindon without loading the rest of the world.

(That he just sent me on Discord!)

At the end of the day, building this massive world is the experimental bit — but there’s no reason fighting frogs, driving cars, and running F.A.P.S. missions in Swindon should require a super-fast PC.
So try out Swindon Town!

There’s still lots to do.
Our journey for increased performance in Amazing Frog? 2 is not yet complete — and we’ll be moving the project to Unity 6 in the new year to expect even better results.

We want the day to last longer, and the day–night cycle will drive more dynamic content.
For now, however, we only really intended for the zombies to come out at night… but they’re always there. Whoops!

The experimental systems in Amazing Frog? 2 are still there, and we’ll continue to expand on this part of the game.

For now, we only had time to release an update for Windows (64-bit).
I’ll roll out a patch in the new year for the other platforms along with some fixes.

Thanks!
